Att: Gailand & Carol Law Attention: Peter Cameron ![]() Sheryl Moore, Geoff MacDonald, Leanne Shaw Beautiful weather, twenty enthusiastic teams and lots of friendly banter and comraderie all combined to make the 2nd Annual HACC Golf Tournament on Friday, June 25, a great success. After a shotgun start and a round of Best Ball golf, the fun continued in the club house where we enjoyed a barbecued steak dinner. The generosity of many sponsors allowed HACC to provide a table full of prizes. Leanne Shaw of Exit Realty was present to draw the winning ticket for the Exit Realty Cruise. Lucky winner was Geoff MacDonald. The Chamber wishes to thank the many businesses who donated prizes to the event: Pizza Delight; Hampton Auto Supplies; Hampton Pharmasave; Lifestyles Health & Fitness Studio; the Hon. Rob Moore, MP; Bell Aliant; Bell Expressview; Beverly’s Esthetics Studio; Fundy Mutual Insurance; Vintage Bistro; Holly’s Restaurant; Security Holdings; Portage Mutual Insurance; Lemongrass Thai Fare; Tim Hortons; Hampton Hardware; Coastal Graphics; Hampton Home Hardware Building Centre; Exit Realty. The latest HACC Business Mixer took place on Thursday, June 17, 2010, at the Vintage Bistro. Inclement weather caused us to relax indoors, rather than on the fabulous rooftop deck, but did not put a damper on the spirits of those who gathered at the end of a business day to enjoy a refreshment and to chat with business associates in our community. Zelda McKenzie of Zelda’s River Adventures hosted the June event. Watch this space for the date of the September Mixer.
Al Bryanton of Scotiabank reviewed the 100 year history of the Bank of Nova Scotia in Hampton. Al had a number of stories and photographs that stirred some memories and were of interest to newcomers to our community. Students from Hampton High School, along with History teacher Mark Perry, then presented photos and memories they have collected through their research into the lives, and in some cases, the deaths, of the men and women from the Hampton area who served in World War II. The business meeting following was chaired by Vice-President Sheryl Moore. Reports on the various Chamber events and activities were printed in a booklet and made available to everyone. Financial reports, the auditor’s report and the proposed budget for the new year were accepted as presented. The Nominating Committee proposed a slate of Officers and Directors, and with no further nominations from the floor being heard, these individuals were declared elected. They are as follows: President – Sheryl Moore, Vice-President – Barb Curry, Secretary/Treasurer – Lowell Jones, Directors: Marc Mathurin, Barb McNamara, Pat Lockhart, Ingrid Warning, Iris Thompson, Peter Behr, Adrien Gratwick, Tanya Whittaker, and Carole Anne Forsgren. Retiring President Beverly Campbell was presented with a bouquet of flowers and received a round of applause for the energy and enthusiasm she brought to the Chamber during her term in office. Retiring board members Michael Hickey and Sherman St. Germain were also thanked for their service to HACC. |
