2009 HACC SMALL BUSINESS AWARDS

Winners of the 2009 HACC Small Business Awards were acknowledged during the 30th Anniversary Dinner on Thursday, October 22 at the Hampton Seniors Resource Centre.

The award for a Business with less than 5 employees is sponsored by Bell Aliant.  Eric Poirier, from Bell Aliant, presented this year’s award to Brent Rourke of the Barn in Bloomfield.

The award for a Business with 5 or more employees is sponsored by the Business Development Bank and Brenda Blaquiere of BDC presented Vanessa Smith of the Main Street Diner with this year’s award.

Lifestyles Health & Fitness Studio was chosen to receive the President’s Choice Award for 2009.  Paulette Haines received the award from David Cotter of Enterprise Fundy, sponsor of the President’s Choice Award.

A presentation was also made by the New Brunswick Association of CBDCs, in recognition of the success of women in business.  Matthew Trevor of CBDC presented this award to Barbara McNamara of the Bamara Inn.

The Town of Hampton traditionally presents an award to a business in recognition of its contribution to the community.  This year Councillor Robert Doucet presented the Town of Hampton award to Barbara McNamara.
